a 2000 sq ft space .. click to enlarge image
 |
we have 3 shooting areas/studios within, plus a lobby, bathroom &
storage
we limit it 20 regular members to cover the cost of rent, insurance,
electricity & gas ... plus paper etc
Rent, per member, would be $175.00 per month ( this would include access
to all three studios)
we have an online calendar for self-scheduling ... see above link
There are two AB800's, plus a boom arm to share between the studios.
New members must sign a 2 month lease, have a background check done,
pay first & last month's rent, plus a $50.00 co-op fee ... total move in
cost $400.00 due prior to move-in ... you will not be issued keys until
you have paid in full. If you are joining next month, you only need to
pay the $225 in deposits & fees to hold your spot, if you are joining
mid-month, we prorate the current month, and add it to the $225
THE RULES:
- All members agree to give 45 days notice to leave the co-op
(members who give less than 30 days notice risk forfeiting their last
months paid deposit/rent.)
- All members agree to not do anything illegal in the studios
- All members agree to pack out their garbage & tidy up before they
leave.
- All members agree to treat all studio equipment & props as their own,
and take care not to damage it.
If you damage any equipment, you are responsible for repairing or
replacing it.
- If each member restricts themselves to one full weekend day per month,
there would still be 4 extra weekend days when we are at full membership
... a full day would be 6+ consecutive hours in one room between 7am &
9pm
as most tend to book 2-4 hour time slots, I hope that weekend prime
times won't have to be monitored too closely
- You may not book the same time/day/room more than two weeks in a row,
you may book same time/day but must rotate rooms to allow everyone equal
access to all the rooms
- I suggest, when you book your time, allow at least 30 minutes both
before & after your required time, to allow for set up, tear down & run
over times, remember, the next person will want in at their scheduled
time.
- If you are members of another google calendar, please triple check
that you are logged into the studio calendar before booking your time,
or your booking will NOT show on the studio calendar ... for the first
month, please email me with your booking times too, so I can double
check that it logged on the calendar.
- I pay for gas & electric, on top of the rent, please turn it off when
you leave, if you come in & find it on, please let me know, so I can
address it with whomever was in there before you.
- as we are in a co-op, we have many different styles of shooting,
please respect each others privacy, you can not be a fly on the wall of
someone else's shoot, without contacting them prior to their scheduled
time & making arrangements.
- we will not be leaving our business cards, portfolios etc in the lobby
to advertise, I will be displaying framed prints, and ask anyone that
would like to have one on display, to email me a web version of a scenic
or any non-human subject image for consideration. If chosen, you will
need to supply an 11x14 print to be displayed in an upscale frame ...
yes, I will be selling framed portraits to my clients, so I want to
display frames, without displaying my work LOL ... thought this would
be the best option so we are not competing with each other.
Studio A is approx 20' x 30' of working space and would
be kept family friendly from 7am to 10pm 7 days a week
Studio B is about 350 sq ft, would be fully enclosed, have a bed, and
I'd call it the Boudoir room (would have to be accessed from either
Studio A or C)
Studio C is about 20' x 30' of working space, tons of natural light,
have separate outdoor entrance
the whole building has 20' high ceilings
above each bathroom are lofts for additional storage accessed with a 10'
tall ladder
we can paint various walls within the studios different colors, up to us
what we want where
the lobby is separated from Studio A by a wall of muslin ...
Both Studio A & C have 14' wide x 18' high glass roll up doors along
with separate man doors ... LOTS of south facing natural light
The lobby is approx 200 sq ft, contains some casual sofas
this furniture we could pull into any studio as needed for props
I've already purchased 3 antique sofas and two wing chairs, and will
slowly collect other furniture to compliment these sofas
